Small Acts of Care, Meaningful Change: TP Greece at Athens Happy House
Caring for the world around us starts with the choices we make and the actions we take, however small they may seem. From protecting the environment to supporting the communities we are part of, every effort can contribute to a more caring and responsible world.
Driven by this belief, TP Greece employees took part in a volunteering day at Athens Happy House, a space dedicated to the care and protection of rescued animals. As part of Citizen of the Planet, TP’s CSR umbrella focused on caring for the environment and the places where we live and operate, the initiative brought our people together around a shared purpose: making a positive contribution through practical action, while learning more about animal welfare and responsible rescue.
Learning Through Care and Action
The day combined learning, teamwork and hands-on volunteering, giving participants the opportunity to support the daily work of Athens Happy House while discovering more about the needs of the animals in its care.
Working in smaller groups, volunteers rotated between activities designed to raise awareness and provide practical support. These included a Trap & Rescue seminar, which introduced participants to animal rescue and responsible intervention, and an awareness session exploring farm animals, their needs and their care.
The experience also took volunteers outdoors, where they rolled up their sleeves and got involved in planting, painting stables, creating a play area, and helping with other practical tasks based on the organization’s needs.
Each activity offered a different way to contribute, showing how time, care and collective effort can support the people and organizations working to make a difference every day.
A Safe Haven for Animals, A Space for Connection
Athens Happy House’s work extends beyond providing a safe home for rescued animals. The organization has also created a sensory garden and highlights the positive role animals can play in supporting people with different needs, including people on the autism spectrum.
This approach reflects the meaningful connections that can develop between people, animals and their surroundings. It also reminds us that caring for animals is about more than meeting their basic needs: it is about creating environments where they can be safe, cared for and valued.
Caring for the Places We Call Home
Through Citizen of the Planet, TP Greece encourages initiatives that contribute to the environment and the communities in which we operate. The volunteering day at Athens Happy House brought this commitment to life through a shared experience rooted in learning, responsibility and care.
For our volunteers, the day was an opportunity to step outside their daily routines, connect with a meaningful cause and contribute to improving the environment of rescued animals.
Because caring for our planet is not only about the world we want to protect. It is also about the care we show, the actions we take and the difference we make together.
