From Awareness to Action: We Stand for Women’s Rights

Diversitysocial responsibilityTP Women

Every year, November 25 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, a global reminder of the need to protect women’s rights, dignity, and safety. At TP Greece, this day represents the beginning of a broader commitment that continues through Human Rights Day on December 10.

Guided by our values and the mission of TP Women, this year we implemented a unified initiative centered on awareness, education, and empowerment.

Empowerment Through Free Self-Defense Classes

As part of our ongoing commitment to women’s well-being and safety, TP Greece offered free self-defense workshops to all female employees.

Led by certified instructors and designed for all skill levels, the sessions focused on:

  • Awareness and situational understanding
  • Prevention strategies
  • Practical safety techniques
  • Setting boundaries and responding effectively in challenging situations

These workshops aimed to provide useful knowledge and tools for daily life, reinforcing our commitment to supporting women. The initiative aimed to give women practical skills for the real world and foster a culture of empowerment.

Human Rights Day Online Event with Diotima NGO

To conclude our activation, we hosted an educational online event on December 10, aligned with Human Rights Day. The webinar, “Advancing Gender Equality & Preventing Gender-Based Violence” was delivered in collaboration with the Centre for Gender Rights & Equality, Diotima, featuring Dimitra Antonopoulou, GBV Case Management Supervisor & Trainer, and coordinated by Aleksandra Dokovic on behalf of TP Women.

Inspired by the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25/11), hosting the event on Human Rights Day highlighted a core message: women’s safety and equality are human rights that TP Greece firmly supports.

During the session, participants explored:

  • What gender-based violence is and why it persists
  • Its impact on individuals and society
  • The shift from passive bystanders to active allies
  • Ways to support individuals experiencing or at risk of GBV
  • The importance of consent and zero tolerance toward violence

Raising awareness and encouraging active allyship strengthens prevention and helps build communities that address GBV with responsibility, empathy, and solidarity.

A Workplace That Protects, Supports, and Empowers

Above all, at TP Greece, we remain committed to creating a workplace that is safe, inclusive, and supportive for all. By linking November 25 with Human Rights Day, we honor every participating employee, every woman who shared her voice, and every partner driving lasting impact.
